Astrid Lindgrens Näs in Vimmerby is a fascinating cultural centre set on the farm in which Astrid Lindgren, the author of the world-bestselling Pippi Longstocking, Ronja The Robber’s Daughter and The Children of Noisy Village books, was born and grew up. This place was the source of inspiration, from which so many stories and books arose. While exploring the interactive garden you can have a look at the tree that became Pippi’s sugar lemonade tree and Emil’s woodshed.
September is the best month to visit the garden because you almost have it to yourself and everything is still in full bloom. It can be really packed during the summer months as Vimmerby is a favorite travel destination, especially for Germans 😉
